Coast: A Seafood Haven in Vancouver with Unmatched Service

If you're in the mood for seafood with a side of impeccable service, Coast delivers a dining experience that plays all the right notes. The seafood? Phenomenal. I highly recommend the fish and chips cones. Not only were they tasty, they were just the perfect refreshing twist on a commonly seen and overdone menu item. In terms of ambiance, the air hums with vibrant energy. The decor is modern, urbane, and a beautifully calibrated West Coast cool. We opted to be indoor, and was seated right near their oyster bar, a beautiful towering centerpiece within the dark atmosphere. What made our experience at Coast truly exceptional was the service. Lindsay, our hostess, welcomed us like friends with a smile that immediately put us at ease. Oscar, our server, brought charm, humor, and a dash of magic to the evening. Their attention turned a good meal into an outstanding experience.

We visited on a Monday afternoon for happy hour and were seated right away as a party of three. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We ordered the oysters, crab dip, and sushi sampler. The oysters were very small, but at $1.50 a shuck, it was still a decent happy hour deal. The sushi sampler was fresh and enjoyable, and the crab dip was a nice addition. Conveniently, there’s a parking garage located right next to the restaurant, which made getting there easy.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! We did a family option and got a mix of everything on the menu. It was so delicious! The pairings for the wine were excellent and the service (server name Michael) was amazing. Overall highly recommended - kudos to the team

Popped into Coast for happy hour — the patio was great and it was definitely busy. The lobster mac and cheese bites were actually pretty solid — crispy, cheesy, and hit the spot. The rest of the experience felt a bit flat. We never got our waters refilled, and no one came by to check on us after the food came out. I get that it was a packed afternoon, but still… a quick check-in would’ve made a difference. Not the worst, but also not rushing back anytime soon.

My uncle and aunt took me here to celebrate my birthday. We had made reservations so were were seated right away and a very charming young lady was our server , Gloria. She was very friendly and knowledgeable not only about what Coast offered but about the restaurant scene in Downtown Vancouver. She pretty much explained everything on the menu in detail. Very helpful. Though I was surprised when I requested a espresso martini, I was told that I would be extra charge for the addition of Baileys. Ok… a dollar … sure. But, we got past that and Gloria made up for the cocktail fiasco. Overall the Oysters were fantastic. I have pics of the food we had. They even had a dessert for my birthday. Highly recommend them. Hope you get Gloria as your server. She will go places in the hospitality industry. ,

Seafood lovers’ heaven! Great daily lunch special (fish and chips with a beer for $20 on Friday) and lunch combo for $39. (We had chowder and seafood pasta) They also have great deals during happy hours. Oysters and raw stuff recommended. Nice patio seatings and sidewalk seatings were great for a sunny day. Service was excellent… professional and attentive.

Went to Coast for happy hour and had an amazing experience! We got lucky and came during halibut and spot prawns season (spot prawns are from Tofino and are in season for about 2 weeks). My cousin’s birthday had just passed, so we were welcomed with some complimentary bubbles to kick off our meal! We ordered 8 dishes to share among 3 girls so it was safe to say we were stuffed by the end of the meal. Highlights were the spot prawns: deep fry the heads and sashimi style for the body of the prawn. This was absolutely delicious, and we didn’t waste any part of the prawn. CAD$1.50 for oysters was such a steal. Truffle fries were comforting and halibut popcorn was served with huge chunks of halibut. All of it was delicious! Service was also above and beyond. The staff was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable outside despite the wind and the cars coming by. We even got a personalized written list of recommendations from our server Josh for the rest of our trip in Vancouver! 10/10 and will definitely be back the next time I visit this city.

I had tried Coast a few years ago and left with a fairly good impression, especially their sablefish, which stood out at the time. I had almost forgotten about the restaurant until recently, when I came across a promotion they were offering: a fixed 4-course "Buy Up" dinner for two at half the regular price. It sounded like a great deal, so we decided to try it and turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The meal was excellent, with portions that were actually quite generous for a prix fixe menu. Each course was flavorful and well-presented, everyone in our group truly enjoyed. What made the evening even more memorable was the impeccable service from Peter. He was attentive, professional, and added a personal touch that elevated the whole experience. Thanks to both the great food and warm hospitality, we had a lovely night out.
